About the Club

The Emergency Medical Services Student Organization, ‘EMS Club’,  is a recognized student organization through the Office of Student Life at the University of Iowa.

EMS club works to bring like minded students together to discuss and learn about paramedicine, emergency medicine and other aspects of the medical field. This provides members time to network with classmates and speakers. Often members are in the same classes and have similar career paths. Many of our members are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT), or Paramedics though there are no certification requirements to be a member. We welcome everyone and are excited to hear about a wide range of experiences and backgrounds.

Our events include guest speakers, ride-along/shadowing opportunities regardless of certification status, social events, volunteering opportunities and  tours of various emergency response or medical facilities.
